Monk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lil Wayne. King Carter. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monk throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Silva looks for the body kick but Monk saw that one coming.
A slapping leg kick lands for Silva.
Silva lands with an overhand left.
Monk moves out of range as Silva throws a body kick.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Monk circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva misses with an uppercut
and Monk makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Silva.
Monk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Monk takes a kick to the side of the head.
Silva swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A bone on bone clash there as Monk blocks the leg kick.
Silva throws a leg kick but Monk sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Silva misses with a leg kick.
Monk takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Monk counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Silva has his feet on Monk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Silva throws a low kick but it's checked well by Monk.
Silva moves into range and clinches up with Monk.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Monk blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Silva is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Monk is defending well for now.
Monk struggles to land a body shot inside as Silva controls his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Monk avoids it.
Monk avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.
Monk pushes Silva back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Monk swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Silva breaks from the clinch.
Silva misses with a leg kick
and Monk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Monk's front leg but catches the back leg as Monk tries to avoid it.
Monk avoids the head kick by Silva.
Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Silva throws a push kick but Monk slaps the foot to one side.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva lands a big head kick that sends Monk to the canvas! Silva follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
