PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacks Sole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob McGrady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGrady has chosen Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacks Sole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob McGrady!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sole swings for the body but McGrady moves out of range.
McGrady stuns Sole with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McGrady scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sole uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McGrady.
McGrady will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McGrady throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McGrady takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
McGrady walks into a jab.
Sole lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McGrady shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Sole scores with a crisp jab that stopped McGrady in his tracks.

Sole throws a quick inside leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Sole misses the target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sole.

McGrady throws a poor cross that misses
and Sole counters with a body kick that stops McGrady in his tracks momentarily.
McGrady defending well as Sole loads up on a big left hand.
Sole leaves McGrady with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sole closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGrady avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

McGrady fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sole sprawls well initially but McGrady persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bob McGrady showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bob McGrady comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McGrady has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Bob McGrady really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Syndicate Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
