The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pudzianowski gets full guard.
Johnston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Johnston tries to free his leg and advance position but Pudzianowski is retaining full guard.
Johnston looking to improve position, pressing down on Pudzianowski's thigh with his hand. Pudzianowski seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Johnston paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Johnston's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Pudzianowski picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
