And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alberto Del Rio!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Del Rio is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wilson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Del Rio should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Del Rio is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Wilson has taken his back!

Del Rio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wilson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Del Rio has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Del Rio has eaten all the pies!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wilson lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Wilson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Del Rio tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wilson is in Del Rio's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wilson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Del Rio defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wilson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Del Rio's body.

Wilson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Del Rio's guard.

Wilson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
