Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Roth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roth comes to the cage accompanied by Shawn Michaels - Sexy Boy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roth throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roth stuns Shields with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Roth is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Shields counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Roth rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shields moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Roth. That snapped Shields's head back.
Roth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shields but Shields pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shields feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Roths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Shields fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Roth looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Shields throws a low kick but Roth moves out of range easily.
Roth throws a series of punches but Shields avoids them all with ease.
Roth will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Shields turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Roth fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shields.

Roth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shields manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shields gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Roth regains guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roth controls Shields momentarily but Shields frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Daniel Roth.

Roth pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shields back to the cage. Roth follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Shields is rocked!
BOOM! Roth lands a beautiful left hook that drops Shields. Shields tries to recover but Roth is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Shields lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
