24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carmelo Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Lord! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lord fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sanchez manages to avoid it. An inside leg kick lands from Sanchez. Sanchez scores with a three punch combo!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sanchez. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Lord staying out of range there. Lord throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lord walks into a straight right hand from Sanchez. Lord throws out a leg kick but Sanchez moves out of range and Lord only half commits. Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lord.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanchez fakes the leg kick and cracks Lord in the body. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lord but Lord pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sanchez keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lord moves into the clinch. Sanchez has picked Lord up - he's going for a ride! Sanchez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Lord wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.
Lord is controlling Sanchez's position as best he can from this difficult position. Sanchez is taking a breather. Lord says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez prevents Lord from improving his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sanchez.
Lord throws a series of punches but Sanchez avoids them all with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lord is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sanchez is trying to control the action in half guard but Lord is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lord preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Sanchez moves nicely into side control. Lord is not content to let Sanchez control the position. Lord keeps Sanchez under control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lord keeps working. Sanchez in side control, throwing shots but Lord defends. Lord tries to bench press Sanchez off him but Sanchez keeps the position. Sanchez taking a breather here. Lord struggling a bit here. Lord tries to improve position but can't. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lord wants to clinch up but Sanchez keeps it at a distance. Lord walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sanchez. Donk. Lord catches Sanchez right on the button with a cross. Sanchez misses with a kick to the body and Lord counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sanchez tries to score with a low kick but Lord moves his leg out of the way. Lord has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Lord. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lord lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Sanchez is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carmelo Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lord stalls. Sanchez is trying to push Lord away but Lord has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lord crunches a lovely knee into Sanchez's ribcage. Lord gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sanchez.
Sanchez is working for takedown but Lord is calmly controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lord tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lord displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sanchez throws out the jab. Sanchez misses with a two punch combination.
Sanchez scores with a one two! Lord had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sanchez ducks under a wild hook from Lord. Lord throws a series of punches but Sanchez avoids them all with ease. Sanchez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Sanchez is trying to force a seperation but Lord has the dominant position. Lord will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sanchez up against the cage. Lord stops a takedown attempt from Sanchez.

Sanchez throws a nice looking combination but Lord bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lord throws a lazy head kick and Sanchez counters with a left to the body. Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carmelo Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lord darts in and out, connecting with a jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Peter Lord will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lord breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lord lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Lord bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sanchez's head. Sanchez cracks the inside of Lord's front leg. Lord throws a series of punches but Sanchez avoids them all with ease. Sanchez looks to score with a jab to the body but Lord is just out of range. Lord throws a series of punches but Sanchez moves out of range. Lord scores with a punch to the head. Sanchez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lord is able to avoid easily. Lord clinches.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lord tries to clinch there but Sanchez circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez throws a low kick but Lord moves out of range easily. Sanchez takes a swing at Lord's ribcage but misses. Sanchez throws a wild body kick that Lord sees coming a mile off. Sanchez sizes up Lord with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sanchez throws a nice head kick!
Sanchez with a body punch. A glancing blow. Lord lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lord throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sanchez blocks it with crossed arms. Sanchez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lord prevents it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lord working some nice short punches in the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanchez is trying to pull guard but Lord has him pressed against the cage. Lord breaks from the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! Peter Lord comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Lord has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
