Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iv Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Alater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iv Ruiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Alater! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown but Alater manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ruiz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Alater decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Alater is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ruiz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alater not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alater passes easily into side control. Nice work. Alater controlling the position from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alater wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Alater working the ground and pound. Alater stands up and we're back to a striking position. Alater fails to land with a series of punches.
Alater gets a takedown into half guard. Alater tries to pass to full mount but Ruiz defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alater moves nicely into side control. Alater cracks Ruiz with an elbow. That is naaassty. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ruiz is trying to buck Alater off. Ruiz is looking to regain half guard here but Alater keeps moving and retains side control. Alater in side control, just content to control the action for now. Alater decides to stand back up. Alater steps back and let's Ruiz get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alater is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ruiz's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ruiz is trying to maintain the position but Alater is very close to passing his half guard. Alater with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ruiz tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Alater has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Ruiz wants to hold on but Alater pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alater controlling his opponent. Let's hope that Alater has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alater is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Ruiz is in real trouble.

Jack Alater dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Alater blocks the body kick.
Alater explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Ruiz shoots in for a takedown but Alater shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ruiz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alater manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Alater throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Ruiz enables Alater to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ruiz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Alater stays in close to Ruiz's body and controls the position. Ruiz controls Alater momentarily but Alater frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alater drops back looking for a leg! Ruiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ruiz manages to kick Alater off! Alater jumps back into Ruiz's guard. Alater trying to control but Ruiz is working from the bottom. Alater advances to half guard. Ruiz is looking to control Alater's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ruiz avoid being mounted? Alater stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruiz is looking to get back to is feet but Alater passes into side control.
Alater controlling the position from side mount. Alater gets to mount! Ruiz was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Alater controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruiz tries to reverse the position but Alater maintains control. Alater controlling from the full mount. Alater wants to finish this one by submission but Ruiz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Alater. Alater with shots to the head and body - Ruiz looks very uncomfortable down there. Ruiz is looking to improve his position but Alater isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alater content just to control the position here. Ruiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alater on the ground. Alater raining down hammerfists from mount. Alater is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ruiz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jack Alater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Alater shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ruiz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Alater sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ruiz's guard. Alater controlling the action here. Alater throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Alater working Ruiz over with strikes. Alater is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ruiz is trying to control but Alater passes into side control!

Possibly, maybe, no Alater has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Alater tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alater controlling from side mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alater postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ruiz looking for a sweep but Alater has passed into full mount! Oh no! Ruiz is in all sorts of trouble here.
Alater working for a guillotine from mount but Ruiz is in no mood to give up. Jack Alater has got the better of the ground game so far. Alater sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Alater lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The referee warns Ruiz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

And that's the end of the fight! Jack Alater comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Alater has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
