Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Flynn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Hall! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flynn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hall on his heels. He'll look to pass Hall's guard now, I'm sure. Flynn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hall tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hall keeping moving, preventing Flynn from controlling successfully. Hall controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hall wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hall swinging wildly here.
Flynn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hall connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Flynn scrambles back to his feet. Flynn throws out a loose jab but Hall uses good head movement to avoid it. Flynn throws a head kick that misses and Hall counters by moving into the clinch. Hall is trying to force a seperation but Flynn has the dominant position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flynn breaks from the clinch.
Hall plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Frank Flynn has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hall throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hall scores with a one two! Flynn had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Hall lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Frank Flynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hall dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Flynn lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hall has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hall and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Flynn is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Hall like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Hall from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Flynn! Frank Flynn gave a mention to ACME-Blood Red Q158 Always $30 (5% Laundry SALE) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
