Washington's entrance music is The Show Goes On-Lupe Fiasco. A fine choice. Tavares has chosen Armin van Buuren - Sail as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington misses with a straight right.
Washington falls off balance throwing a combination

and Tavares counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Washington looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tavares tries a knee to the head but Washington blocks it.
Washington prevents a takedown attempt there.
Tavares keeps control of Washington as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Tavares drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tavares tightens his grip and picks Washington up, before dumping him to the ground. Washington manages to land in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Tavares thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tavares is pushing down on Washington's leg trying to pass to half guard. Washington is fighting to maintain full guard but Tavares has managed to sneak the leg through.
Washington wants to get back to his feet.
Tavares passes to side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Washington tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tavares has an Americana. Washington didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Tavares is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Tavares hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
