Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jared Cowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marco Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cowen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cowen throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Cowen wants to land a leg kick but Gomez is out of range.
Gomez slips a straight right by Cowen.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gomez is defended easily by Cowen.
Gomez shoots for a takedown but Cowen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jared Cowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Gomez.
A slapping body kick lands there for Cowen.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cowen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cowen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cowen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gomez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cowen.
Gomez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cowen misses with a low kick as Gomez jumps back.
Gomez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cowen lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cowen throws a leg kick
and Gomez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cowen!
Cowen is working to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gomez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Cowen is on top in guard.
Cowen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gomez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cowen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gomez has tightened it up now! Cowen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
