PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mico Pazuh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhon Dodsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dodsoon has chosen Alter Bridge - Metalingus as his entrance music. The key to victory for Mico Pazuh has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mico Pazuh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jhon Dodsoon!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pazuh misses with a takedown

and Dodsoon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Pazuh makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Dodsoon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pazuh pinned against the cage. Pazuh gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pazuh fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pazuh shoots in looking for a takedown but Dodsoon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pazuh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mico Pazuh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dodsoon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dodsoon lands in his opponent's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dodsoon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dodsoon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dodsoon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Pazuh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dodsoon on the ground.
Dodsoon postures up in Pazuh's guard and throws a big left but Pazuh blocks it.
Pazuh wants to sweep but no luck.
Dodsoon trying to control the position from guard on top but Pazuh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dodsoon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dodsoon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Dodsoon trying to control but Pazuh is working from the bottom.

Jhon Dodsoon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dodsoon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pazuh defends it nicely.

Pazuh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dodsoon was covering up waiting for the punch and Pazuh finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pazuh throws a big right hand that misses.
Dodsoon pulls Pazuh in to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pazuh missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pazuh working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pazuh is looking to work some ground and pound but Dodsoon has wrist control.
Pazuh throws an elbow that misses. Dodsoon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pazuh's guard. Nice move by Dodsoon!

Dodsoon wants to control from the top but Pazuh keeps moving.

Dodsoon sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dodsoon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

No luck for Pazuh with that takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pazuh fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dodsoon drives through with a takedown into Pazuh's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dodsoon throwing strikes from guard but Pazuh blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jhon Dodsoon dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Dodsoon shoots in but no luck this time.
Pazuh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dodsoon tries to avoid it but Pazuh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dodsoon to the ground. Dodsoon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pazuh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dodsoon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dodsoon. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Dodsoon controls from within his opponent's guard.
Pazuh wants to stand but Dodsoon is controlling the position.
Dodsoon passes into half guard.
Dodsoon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dodsoon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Pazuh wants to get back to his feet.

Dodsoon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dodsoon working the head and body with strikes.
Still in half guard, Dodsoon seems content to control.
Pazuh is refusing to be controlled, as Dodsoon sits in half guard.
Pazuh is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dodsoon scores with a couple of nice shots.

Dodsoon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dodsoon not doing much here.
Pazuh wants to control but Dodsoon is keeping busy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dodsoon is looking for a kimura but Pazuh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dodsoon to get the leverage.
Jhon Dodsoon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pazuh avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dodsoon.

Pazuh has hold of Dodsoon's hands but Dodsoon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Dodsoon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Dodsoon is looking for a kimura here.

Dodsoon in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pazuh tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dodsoon!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jhon Dodsoon!
A very excited looking Jhon Dodsoon rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
