Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Twig Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Woodson Grimley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Twig Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Twig Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Woodson Grimley! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots and misses and Grimley counters with a nice body kick. Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grimley. Grimley shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Grimley fails with a takedown attempt. Twig Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Woodson Grimley. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones. Grimley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Grimley lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Grimley which made him look bad. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grimley throws a hook but Jones blocks it. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Grimley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grimley is controlling him. Grimley looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones wanted to stand there but Grimley had control of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grimley is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Grimley throws a head kick that misses and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jones wants to stand up but Grimley is controlling the position.
Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Grimley to stand up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Grimley misses with a wild body shot. Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grimley tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grimley to the ground. Grimley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grimley throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jones stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Jones gets tackled into the cage by Grimley. Grimley maintains the clinch. Jones is working for takedown but Grimley is calmly controlling the position for now. Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.

Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Grimley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Grimley has taken the fight to the clinch.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Grimley. Jones misses with a takedown and Grimley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones shoots in for a takedown but Grimley shows good takedown defense. Grimley rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grimley is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jones to keep the fight standing. Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Grimley is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard. Grimley is looking to improve his position.
Grimley works his way to full guard. Good work. Jones stands and steps away. Grimley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Grimley misses with a double jab
and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Grimley's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Grimley pushes a forearm under Jones's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jones is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
