Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiranuka Stakanu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stakanu comes to the cage accompanied by Oy, To Ne Vecher. Maia has chosen Bulls on Parade as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Stakanu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stakanu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Stakanu blocks a head kick by Maia.
Maia tries to land a front kick but Stakanu steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Stakanu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maia throws out the jab.
Stakanu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Maia is trying to stick to Stakanu's back but Stakanu is turning into Maia. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Maia's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stakanu.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stakanu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stakanu is in a horrible position here. Maia smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Maia is nestled in close to Stakanu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That was a close round but I would say that Hiranuka Stakanu will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Maia lands with an uppercut that bounces Stakanu off the cage and back into range.
Stakanu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maia tries a head kick but it misses.
Stakanu with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maia to score with a decent uppercut.

Stakanu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
