Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jd Almanez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evangelista Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almanez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rock Hood by Shinobi Ninja. Nunes has chosen Never Be Alone as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almanez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nunes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Almanez throws a low kick, looking for Nunes's leg but Nunes calmly moves out of range.
A slow jab from Almanez misses its intended target.

Nunes fails to land with a series of punches.
Almanez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nunes finds it's way round the side to connect with Almanez's head.
Almanez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Almanez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nunes avoids it really well and circles away.
Almanez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Almanez throws a lazy right hand but Nunes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nunes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Almanez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Nunes is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Nunes blocks a head kick by Almanez.
Almanez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nunes throws a front kick that sends Almanez stumbling back into the cage.
Nunes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Almanez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Almanez shoots in and bounces Nunes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Almanez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nunes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nunes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nunes!

Almanez tries to bench press Nunes off him but Nunes keeps the position.
Nunes tries to advance position but instead Almanez slips a leg back in to half guard.
Nunes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Almanez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nunes prevents Almanez from improving his position.

Almanez is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nunes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
and Almanez counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Nunes! He's just covering up as Almanez starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jd Almanez!
As Jd Almanez got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Back on track with a win! Just what I needed to help myself out of the streak I've been on. Hopefully I can keep winning fights now!'.
