Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Belt! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belt has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
King wants to get back to striking at distance but Belt won't allow it.
King doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
King is trying to break the clinch but Belt has him pressed against the ropes. King lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Belt has King pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. King manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Belt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. King lands a nice uppercut. King lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Belt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

This has been an exciting period of action! King is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Belt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Belt's back!

David King decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
