Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Espinosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Butterfly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesus Espinosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brett Butterfly!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butterfly misses with a body kick.
Butterfly scores with a push kick.
Espinosa throws out a powerful jab.

Butterfly drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Butterfly throws a strike but Espinosa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Butterfly is trying to keep Espinosa in close.

Butterfly is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Espinosa is aware though and is defending well.
Espinosa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Espinosa is looking to work some ground and pound but Butterfly has wrist control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Butterfly has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Espinosa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Espinosa advances to half guard.
Butterfly is trying to maintain the position but Espinosa is very close to passing his half guard.

Espinosa not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Butterfly gets full guard.
Butterfly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Espinosa is one step ahead there.

Espinosa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Butterfly has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Espinosa has managed to get both his arms back between Butterfly's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Espinosa pushes down on Butterfly's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Espinosa is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Butterfly!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Espinosa trying to control but Butterfly is having none of it.
Espinosa is really struggling to control Butterfly but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A nice elbow there by Espinosa.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Butterfly really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Espinosa with a couple of short strikes.
Espinosa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Espinosa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Butterfly looks a forlorn figure.
Espinosa looking to control but Butterfly is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Espinosa is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Butterfly to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Butterfly shrugs it off.
Butterfly gets back to half guard.

Butterfly looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Espinosa seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are battling for position here. Butterfly manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Espinosa wants to control from the top but Butterfly keeps moving.
Espinosa cracks Butterfly with a solid left hand.
Espinosa throws a big elbow that misses.
Espinosa trying to control but Butterfly is working from the bottom.

Butterfly looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Espinosa is looking to advance position but Butterfly has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Espinosa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Butterfly pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Butterfly scoring with strikes but Espinosa is staying in there.
Espinosa is looking to get to half guard.
Butterfly trying to control but Espinosa is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Butterfly lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Espinosa will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Espinosa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Butterfly shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Butterfly was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Butterfly connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Espinosa some visible discomfort.
Butterfly tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Espinosa manages to get back to half guard.
Butterfly trying to control the pace.
Butterfly is looking to pass Espinosa's guard but actually Espinosa recovers to full guard.
Brett Butterfly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Butterfly passes Espinosa's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Butterfly trying to control from half guard but Espinosa is working away.
Espinosa wants to get back to his feet.

Espinosa gets full guard.
Butterfly postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Butterfly stands up over Espinosa, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Butterfly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Butterfly missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Butterfly working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Espinosa's head.

Espinosa has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Butterfly doesn't defend quickly enough and Espinosa has managed to lock this one up! Can Butterfly escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Espinosa on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jesus Espinosa!
