Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Qusand Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lawson has chosen "Indestructible" by Disturbed as his entrance music. Dean Lawson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Qusand Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Lawson! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Lewis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A swing and a miss from Lewis. Lawson tries for a takedown but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A good leg kick by Lewis. Lawson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lewis. Lawson closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Lawson pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lawson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lewis. Lawson shoots in for a double leg but Lewis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Qusand Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Lawson. Lewis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Lawson can't do much from the bottom here. Lewis decides to take the fight back to the feet. Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lawson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lewis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lewis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lawson. That did some damage! Lewis looks to land a combination. Lawson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Lewis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A punch combination from Lewis misses. Lewis takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A slapping leg kick lands for Lewis.
Lewis feints and as Lawson raises his hands in defense, Lewis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Lewis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lawson is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lewis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lewis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lawson, up you get! Lewis misses with a few strikes there.

and Lawson counters with a left and a right that stings Lewis. Lewis throws a series of punches but Lawson moves out of range. Lawson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lewis.
Lawson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lewis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lewis misses with a series of wild punches.
Lawson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lewis lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Lawson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lawson off to one side. Qusand Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lawson looks gassed! Lewis misses with a two punch combination.

Lawson shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lewis throws a series of punches but Lawson moves out of range. Lawson ducks under a wild hook from Lewis. Lewis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lawson. Lawson has his takedown stuffed and Lewis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lawson's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lawson keeping full guard, as Lewis tries to pass.

Lewis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lewis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lawson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lawson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lewis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lawson keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully. Lewis postures up in Lawson's guard and throws a big left but Lawson blocks it. Lewis throws a strike but Lawson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lewis can't keep his opponent in guard - Lawson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawson prevents Lewis from improving his position. Lewis wants to get back to his feet. Lewis is looking to improve his position.
Lewis pushes Lawson off and gets back to his feet. Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lawson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lawson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lewis.
Lawson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lewis misses with a two punch combination.
Lawson clinches up with Lewis and pushes him back against the cage. Lewis is looking to break free of the clinch but Lawson has double underhooks. Lewis can't break the clinch.
Lewis wants the takedown. Lawson is fighting it off but Lewis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lawson's guard against the cage. Lewis stands up and waves to Lawson to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Qusand Lewis dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lewis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Lewis misses with a series of wild punches.

Lewis tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lewis to the ground. Lewis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lewis's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Lewis wanted to stand there but Lawson had control of the position. Lawson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lewis is controlling him. Lewis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lawson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Lawson has a closed guard, preventing Lewis from standing up. Lewis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lawson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lewis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lawson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lewis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lawson pulls down on the head and he's put Lewis to sleep! This one is all over!
