Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaune Scally! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Ellic McCrae! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCrae closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Scally quickly recovers to half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Scally is pressing down on McCrae's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Scally is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCrae defends well. McCrae missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Scally had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McCrae defends it easily. Scally is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCrae defends well. This has been an exciting period of action! McCrae throws a big right hand that misses. McCrae got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scally has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCrae has managed to get both his arms back between Scally's legs - danger averted. McCrae chips away with some ground and pound. Scally preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. McCrae stands up over Scally, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Scally working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCrae doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCrae manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McCrae got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scally has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCrae has managed to get both his arms back between Scally's legs - danger averted. McCrae working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Scally's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCrae lands a couple of digs. McCrae landing with the ground and pound. McCrae chips away with some ground and pound.
Scally is rocked! Scally might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McCrae lands a couple of decent looking shots. Oh Scally is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Scally has an active guard here but McCrae has managed to pass into half guard.
Scally is breathing heavily. Scally is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McCrae pulls his head out easily. Scally seems to have got his legs back now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCrae lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Scally! More strikes land and this one is all over! McCrae jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ellic McCrae! A relieved looking Ellic McCrae thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
