Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dewayne Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dewayne Bryant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fire!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bryant enables Fire to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bryant manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Fire pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bryant is keeping the position for now.
Fire slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bryant is trying to keep Fire in close.

Fire stands and steps away. Bryant gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bryant shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fire defends it nicely.
Bryant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fire circles away.

Fire scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fire is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fire stalling.

Fire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bryant is just riding it out for now. Fire eventually gives up the hold.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fire in particular looking to stall.
Fire tries to pass to full mount but Bryant defends it.
Bryant tries to get to full guard but Fire has control of the leg.
Fire thows a huge punch but Bryant dodges it nicely.
Fire sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bryant defending well though.
Fire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fire thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bryant's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fire throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Fire sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Fire throwing shots but Bryant is blocking nicely.
Fire seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Bryant is staying active underneath Fire, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fire working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bryant is trying to control but can't.
Bryant is breathing heavily.
Bryant keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fire perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Fire postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Bryant to stand up.

Fire drives through with a takedown into Bryant's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Fire stays in close to Bryant's body and controls the position.
Fire throws a big elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bryant is trying to control the position but Fire postures up.
Fire in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fire working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fire with a nice head shot there.
Fire slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Fire might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Bryant wants to sweep but no luck.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fire throws a big right hand that misses.
Fire controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bryant gets caught napping as Fire dives in and scores a takedown. Bryant manages to retain guard.
Fire's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fire slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fire fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Fire remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Fire trying to control the action but Bryant is working from the bottom.
Bryant is being controlled here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fire is trying to get an arm triangle but Bryant is defending well.
Fire is staying tight to Bryant's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Fire dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Fire clinches.

Fire gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Fire scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Bryant is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bryant is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bryant had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fire defends it easily.
Fire scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fire is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Bryant working a defensive guard here.
Fire's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bryant is controlling Fire's posture.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tommy Fire wasn't active enough on the ground.

Fire feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fire stands up and waves to Bryant to follow him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bryant.

Fire drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bryant is trying to control the position but Fire postures up.
Fire tries to free his leg and advance position but Bryant is retaining full guard.
Fire is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tommy Fire wasn't active enough on the ground.

Fire fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bryant sprawls well initially but Fire persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fire is looking to advance position but Bryant won't allow it.
Fire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bryant trying to control here.
Fire moves into full mount! Bryant won't be happy about that!
Fire breaks from Bryant's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fire is landing with some decent strikes but Bryant is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fire controlling the position easily from mount.
Fire lands a big shot there that rocks Bryant but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Bryant is rocked!
Fire has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fire tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fire misses with a head shot.
Fire lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bryant hang on?
Fire in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Oh Bryant is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fire tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fire scoring with strikes but Bryant is staying in there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fire looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Bryant covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Fire!
