Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ramon Monzon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tom DeLonge! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monzon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ramon Monzon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Monzon pushes DeLonge up against the cage in a clinch. Monzon lands an elbow inside that DeLonge shrugs off.
It looks like Tom DeLonge has been cut. A nice glancing elbow lands by Monzon. Monzon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
DeLonge avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monzon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Monzon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. DeLonge manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Monzon tries to clinch there but DeLonge circles away.

Monzon creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through DeLonge's defenses. DeLonge has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Monzon after a bit of a struggle. Monzon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Monzon tries to close the distance and clinch but DeLonge swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Monzon tries to clinch but DeLonge moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monzon tries a head kick but it misses.
Monzon tries to clinch up. Monzon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Monzon wants to clinch. Monzon tries to clinch there but DeLonge circles away.
Monzon throws a head kick that misses. Monzon gets a clinch. Monzon lands an elbow that stopped DeLonge in his tracks for a moment. DeLonge takes an elbow to the forehead. Monzon prevents a takedown attempt there.
Monzon manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monzon is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Monzon is looking to clinch but DeLonge is avoiding it.
Monzon closes the distance and pushes DeLonge back into the cage. Monzon stops a takedown attempt from DeLonge.
Ramon Monzon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom DeLonge. Monzon creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through DeLonge's defenses. Monzon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Monzon wants to clinch up but DeLonge keeps it at a distance. Monzon throws a wild body kick that DeLonge sees coming a mile off. Monzon throws a head kick that half lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Monzon tries to clinch up but DeLonge circles away and keeps his distance. Ramon Monzon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monzon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Monzon fails in his attempt to clinch. Monzon moves in looking to clinch but DeLonge pushes him off. DeLonge fails with a takedown attempt. DeLonge blocks a head kick by Monzon.
Monzon moves into the clinch. Monzon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Monzon tries a head kick but it misses.
Monzon tries to clinch but DeLonge is having none of it. Monzon misses with a low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monzon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Monzon throws a head kick that DeLonge semi-blocks.
Monzon lands a nice looking kick to the body. DeLonge takes a step back to recover. Monzon throws a head kick that misses. Monzon is breathing heavily. Monzon lands a nice leg kick that just misses DeLonge's sensitive parts. DeLonge circles away from the clinch attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monzon tries to clinch but DeLonge moves out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Monzon clinches up with DeLonge and pushes him back against the cage. Monzon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. DeLonge swats away the attempt to clinch by Monzon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ramon Monzon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tom DeLonge's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
DeLonge takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Monzon scores with a head kick.
Whack! Monzon lands a heavy head kick that drops DeLonge. The ref tackles Monzon to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because DeLonge was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Ramon Monzon!
