Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miklos Finklebaum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rad Jeffreis!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeffreis gets the takedown into side control.
Jeffreis stands up.
Jeffreis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finklebaum's waist but Finklebaum gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jeffreis off to one side.
Jeffreis forces Finklebaum back against the cage and clinches.
Finklebaum jumps guard but Jeffreis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jeffreis gets underhooks to prevent Finklebaum's takedown attempt.
Finklebaum drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jeffreis pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miklos Finklebaum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Finklebaum keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jeffreis shoots in and gets a takedown into Finklebaum's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jeffreis preventing the sweep.
Jeffreis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Finklebaum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jeffreis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Finklebaum looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jeffreis passes into half guard.
Finklebaum is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jeffreis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jeffreis's back!
Jeffreis tries to roll but Finklebaum sticks to his back.
Finklebaum is cranking Jeffreis's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Jeffreis! He's tightened the choke and Jeffreis is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Miklos Finklebaum!
Miklos Finklebaum spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
