Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Waine Bitterhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Soto Major!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bitterhall scores with a one two! Soto Major had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


That has opened up Alex Soto Major's cut even more.

Bitterhall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Soto Major looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bitterhall is looking to take a break and control but Soto Major is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Soto Major is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Soto Major is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bitterhall is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soto Major can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bitterhall stands up and beckons Soto Major to his feet.

Bitterhall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bitterhall is looking for a kimura but Soto Major is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bitterhall to get the leverage.
Soto Major really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bitterhall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bitterhall is looking to stall here but Soto Major recovers full guard.
Soto Major wants to stand but Bitterhall is controlling the position.

Soto Major gets tackled into the cage by Bitterhall. Bitterhall maintains the clinch.
Soto Major is looking to take this one to the mat.

Bitterhall has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Soto Major uses from the top position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Soto Major's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bitterhall has momentary wrist control but Soto Major slips an elbow through the middle.

Bitterhall manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bitterhall throws a head kick but Soto Major moves out of range.

Bitterhall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Soto Major quickly recovers to half guard.
Soto Major is trying to stand up here but Bitterhall is controlling him well.
Bitterhall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Soto Major keeps working.

Soto Major wants to stand and escape but Bitterhall is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Waine Bitterhall wasn't doing enough on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Soto Major enables Bitterhall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Soto Major manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Waine Bitterhall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Soto Major wants to get back to his feet but Bitterhall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bitterhall lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Bitterhall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Soto Major wants to get back to his feet.

Bitterhall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Soto Major is just riding it out for now. Bitterhall eventually gives up the hold.

Bitterhall is looking to stall here but Soto Major recovers full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Soto Major is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Waine Bitterhall dominated that second round.

That's time! Bitterhall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Bitterhall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Soto Major moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bitterhall throws a combination that misses
and Soto Major counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bitterhall tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Soto Major holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Soto Major is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bitterhall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bitterhall wants the takedown. Soto Major is fighting it off but Bitterhall persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Soto Major's guard against the cage.
Bitterhall trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto Major is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Soto Major is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Waine Bitterhall has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bitterhall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bitterhall is looking to take a break and control but Soto Major is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bitterhall has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Soto Major works to full guard.
Alex Soto Major has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Soto Major pulls Bitterhall in to control the position.

Waine Bitterhall has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bitterhall misses with a double jab.

Bitterhall drives through with a takedown into Soto Major's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bitterhall trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto Major is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Soto Major kicks Bitterhall off and gets back to his feet.

Bitterhall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Soto Major looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bitterhall is one step ahead there.

Soto Major pushes Bitterhall off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bitterhall shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Soto Major is trying to defend but Bitterhall finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Waine Bitterhall showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bitterhall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
