Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Singer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Diaz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Singer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Diaz! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nice defenses there by Singer. Diaz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Singer momentarily.
Diaz digs a good body shot into Singer's ribs. Diaz misses with an uppercut. Singer drops his hands momentarily and Diaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Diaz misses with a lunging right hand
and Singer moves into the clinch. Singer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Diaz has clasped his hands together around Singer's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Diaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Diaz is trying to get an arm triangle but Singer is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singer wants to control but Diaz postures up. Diaz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Singer trying to remain calm as Diaz controls from the top position. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now! Singer can't do much from the bottom here. Diaz has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Singer! Diaz is working for a guillotine from mount but Singer frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Singer can't escape the position.
Diaz wants to take his opponent's back but Singer doesn't allow it. Diaz avoids the attempt from Singer to control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Singer is squirming around, avoiding Diaz's attempts to control the action. Singer is wriggling around trying to escape.
Diaz fails to advance to Singer's back. Diaz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Diaz trying to control but Singer is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz has control of Singer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Singer regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Singer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Singer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Diaz fails to move to back control. Singer has given up his back here. Will Diaz look for the submission or keep pounding away?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Singer trying to control the action but Diaz just sinks the hooks in. Diaz trying to control momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Singer right now.
Singer is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Diaz gets his way!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. I really don't envy Singer right now.
Diaz trying to control. Diaz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Singer has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Singer is trying to break free.
Well, with Diaz on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Singer is tapping out... Can he escape the position? The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Diaz has his arm under Singer's chin here. Game over son! Diaz squeezes tightly and Singer is forced to tap out!
