The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kadota shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kadota showed some decent athleticism there.

Kadota connects with a good right hand that stumbles Maier. Maier circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kadota swings for the body but Maier moves out of range.
Maier walks into a stiff left hand from Kadota.
Maier has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maier there as he acknowledges the shot.
Maier dives in and grabs Kadota's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kadota pushes down on Maier's head and hops out.
Kadota throws a jab when Maier was well out of range.
Maier displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kadota throws out the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kadota. Maier does a little dance to reset his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Kadota misses the target.
Kadota looks to score with a jab to the body but Maier is just out of range.
Maier moves in looking to clinch but Kadota pushes him off.
A lazy left from Kadota finds it's target.

Kadota stuffs the takedown.
Kadota throws a hook but Maier avoids it easily.
Kadota throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Maier on the side of the head.
Oh Maier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kadota digs a good hook to Maier's body.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
