Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawajiri has chosen Water Pow as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tatsuya Kawajiri!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes throws a head kick but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Reyes looks to land a combination but Kawajiri avoids it well.

Kawajiri wants to get back to striking at distance but Reyes won't allow it.
Kawajiri has Reyes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Reyes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kawajiri is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Reyes can't fight it off and eventually Kawajiri manages to take the fight to the floor. Reyes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tatsuya Kawajiri dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kawajiri cracks Reyes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Reyes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kawajiri throws a hook to the side of Reyes's head but Reyes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Reyes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Reyes tries to bum rush Kawajiri with a series of wild strikes but Kawajiri uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kawajiri is looking to clinch but Reyes is avoiding it.
Tatsuya Kawajiri is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reyes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kawajiri's sensitive parts.

Reyes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawajiri moves away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kawajiri.
Kawajiri doesn't manage to clinch there - Reyes circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Reyes.

Tatsuya Kawajiri comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kawajiri has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
