The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson misses with a telegraphed body shot
so Jiorgite counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jiorgite drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sampson dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jiorgite looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sampson has picked Jiorgite up and slammed him! Jiorgite can't keep hold of the triangle and Sampson manages to pass to side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sampson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jiorgite's legs.
Jiorgite is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sampson off and has taken his back!
Sampson turns into Jiorgite and is now in his guard.
Sampson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Sampson postures up in Jiorgite's guard and throws a big left but Jiorgite blocks it.
Sampson looking to improve position, pressing down on Jiorgite's thigh with his hand. Jiorgite seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Sampson paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Sampson's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Jiorgite picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
