Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luis Fierro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Valdez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valdez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fierro gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

German Valdez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Valdez shoots in but Fierro avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Valdez wants to free his trapped foot but Fierro is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Valdez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fierro avoids it really well and circles away.

Valdez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Let's hope that Valdez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by German Valdez.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

German Valdez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. German Valdez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Valdez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fierro tries to avoid it but Valdez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fierro to the ground. Fierro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Valdez prevents Fierro from getting the reversal.
Valdez controlling the pace for now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fierro is trying desperately to improve position.
German Valdez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

German Valdez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Valdez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
