Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Erik Saba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gonzo Bunga! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saba wants to clinch. Saba throws a wild body kick that Bunga sees coming a mile off. Erik Saba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bunga shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saba as he jumps to the side. Bunga avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saba tries to clinch but Bunga is having none of it. Saba is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bunga on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Saba. Saba obviously looking to wear him down.
Bunga looks gassed! Saba is looking to clinch but Bunga is avoiding it.
Saba looks to score with a jab to the body but Bunga is just out of range. A solid leg kick lands there for Saba.

That's one minute gone in the round. Saba clinches up against the cage. Bunga tries to pull guard but Saba holds him up against the cage and eventually Bunga drops back down to his feet.

Saba changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bunga fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Saba bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Saba is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bunga knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Saba decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bunga to his feet. Saba tries to clinch but Bunga is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bunga avoids a kick to the body.
Saba fails in his attempt to clinch. Saba tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bunga swats him away and circles back towards the center. Saba instigates a clinch. Saba lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Good body shot from Saba.

Saba with a lazy takedown attempt and Bunga counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Saba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bunga is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bunga looking to pass the guard. Bunga sitting in guard here, content to control. Saba controls Bunga momentarily but Bunga frees himself. Bunga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saba swivels though and keeps the full guard. Saba not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Saba wants to stand but Bunga is controlling the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Saba wants to clinch and Bunga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bunga. Saba is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Saba escapes and gets back to his feet. Saba looks to clinch and Bunga counters with a single leg into guard. Saba didn't expect that. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bunga seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bunga must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Saba not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Erik Saba dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bunga looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Saba trying to control here.
Bunga trying to control the action but Saba is working from the bottom. Saba moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bunga tries to free his leg and advance position but Saba is retaining full guard. Bunga is breathing heavily. Bunga being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saba wants to sweep here but Bunga controlling him for the moment. Saba is trying to control the position from the bottom.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bunga circles away from the clinch attempt and Bunga counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Saba's guard now. Bunga postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saba tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bunga wants to control from the top but Saba keeps moving. Saba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bunga is one step ahead there. Saba can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bunga controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bunga throws a big right hand that misses.

Gonzo Bunga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That could spell trouble for Bunga! Saba is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Saba tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bunga counters with a nice double leg into side control. Saba won't be happy with that. Bunga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saba is pushing Bunga's head away, looking to escape. Bunga manages to hold on to the position though. Saba is not content to let Bunga control the position. Bunga is working Saba over with some ground and pound from side control. Saba is not content to let Bunga control the position. Bunga stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Saba fails in his attempt to clinch. Saba moves into range and clinches up with Bunga. A quick uppercut on the inside from Saba. Still in the clinch, Saba scores with a nice short uppercut. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Bunga tries to pull guard but Saba won't allow it.
Saba tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Bunga tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Saba smiles and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bunga with a lazy takedown attempt and Saba counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Erik Saba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gonzo Bunga. Saba pulls guard successfully.

Bunga slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Saba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bunga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bunga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bunga throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bunga wants to pass the guard but Saba is keeping the position. Saba looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Saba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bunga can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Saba pushes Bunga off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
And that's the end of the fight! Gonzo Bunga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bunga has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
