PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pete Damato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Jecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jecht has chosen Pink Floyd - Young Lust as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Damato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sir Jecht!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damato misses with a straight left.
That kick from Jecht tenderised Damato's leg. Damato is trying to keep his angry face on.
Damato ducks under a wild hook from Jecht.
Jecht shoots in for a takedown but Damato shows good takedown defense.
A slapping body kick lands there for Damato.
Jecht feints a jab promting Damato to slip. Jecht then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Damato slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jecht takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jecht looks to land a combination but Damato avoids it well.
Jecht stuns Damato with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Jecht misses the target.
Damato throws a jab but it's blocked by Jecht.
Damato's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jecht connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Damato scrambles back to his feet.
Sir Jecht seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jecht defending well as Damato loads up on a big left hand.
Jecht takes one to the chin there.


It looks like Sir Jecht has been cut.
Jecht staying out of range there.
Damato throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jecht slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jecht keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Damato checks a low kick from Jecht.
Jecht bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Damato misses with a looping right.
Damato throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jecht scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Damato doesn't seem bothered though.
Damato moves away from the strike by Jecht.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jecht darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Damato throws a leg kick which misses Jecht's front leg but catches the back leg as Jecht tries to avoid it.
Damato throws a right and a left that both miss.

Damato throws a low kick but Jecht avoids it.
Damato jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Damato takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jecht paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jecht cracks Damato with an open hand slap.
Damato throws a big shot that misses.
Damato throws a hook but Jecht avoids it easily.
Damato is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Jecht's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jecht shoots in looking for a takedown. Damato tries to sprawl out of it but Jecht keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Damato manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Damato throws a hook to the side of Jecht's head but Jecht sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pete Damato is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Damato on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Damato misses with a looping left.
Damato leaves Jecht with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pete Damato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sir Jecht.
Jecht displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Damato throws out the jab.
Jecht shoots in for a takedown but Damato shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jecht throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Damato fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Damato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jecht manages to avoid it.
Damato jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Damato showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jecht.
Damato misses with an uppercut. Jecht saw that one coming.
Damato is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jecht.
Jecht uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Damato.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jecht fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Damato just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sir Jecht will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Sir Jecht's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jecht keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Damato.
Jecht's jab looks to have found its range, popping Damato under the eye.
Damato darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jecht throws a leg kick
and Damato counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jecht's knee momentarily.
Jecht throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jecht lands a nice leg kick that just misses Damato's sensitive parts.
Jecht dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Damato. That did some damage!
Good standup being displayed there by Jecht as he connects with a hook.
Jecht walks straight into a right hand from Damato - that's dropped him! Damato jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jecht from any more punishment! Jecht complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Pete Damato!
Pete Damato really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Hellbent logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
