Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joko Makihono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joko Makihono! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, CJ Johnston! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danga de danga de dang - Johnston scores with a four punch combination! Makihono tries for a takedown but Johnston circles away easily and Johnston counters with a one-two to the body. Johnston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Makihono avoids it really well and circles away. Makihono throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnston was covering up waiting for the punch and Makihono finishes the takedown easily into guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Makihono lands a couple of decent looking shots. Johnston looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnston, not yet. Makihono lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Makihono lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Makihono throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Makihono trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Makihono stands and throws Johnston's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makihono is looking to take a break and control but Johnston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Makihono wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makihono tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Makihono has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Makihono working the head with strikes. Johnston taking punishment in the form of punches.
Makihono moves into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnston tries to reverse the position but Makihono maintains control. Johnston is bucking up trying to escape but Makihono cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Makihono postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Johnston looks a forlorn figure.
Makihono breaks from Johnston's wrist control and lands an elbow. Makihono lands a big shot to the head and Johnston winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Joko Makihono! Joko Makihono was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
