Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Lawlor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackie Lee will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamie Lawlor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackie Lee! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawlor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee. Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Lawlor, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lee closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lawlor quickly recovers to half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Lawlor moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawlor swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lawlor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lawlor has a closed guard, preventing Lee from standing up. Lawlor wants to sweep but no luck. Lawlor keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawlor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him. Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Lawlor is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawlor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lawlor circles away. Jamie Lawlor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee has Lawlor up against the cage in a clinch.

Lee wanted to stand there but Lawlor had control of the position. Lee has gone for a leg lock! Lawlor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lee's guard. Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lawlor with a nice head shot there. Lawlor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jamie Lawlor will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jackie Lee hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lee dives in and grabs Lawlor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lawlor pushes down on Lee's head and hops out.

Lee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lawlor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lee wants to control but Lawlor is keeping him busy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lawlor to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackie Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lawlor chips away with some ground and pound. Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lawlor's waist but Lawlor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side. Lee misses with a takedown letting Lawlor counter with a right hand. Lee shoots and misses and Lawlor counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
