The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luke drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Luke gets to his feet - Vieira follows without any prompting.

Luke rushes Vieira and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vieira tries to pull guard but Luke forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Luke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vieira looks for a takedown but Luke sprawls well.
Vieira tries to clinch

and Luke counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Luke drops back looking for a leg! Vieira is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vieira manages to kick Luke off! Luke jumps back into Vieira's guard.

Vieira looking to hit a scissor sweep but Luke is one step ahead there.
Luke wants to control from the top but Vieira keeps moving.

Luke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vieira wants to stand up but Luke is controlling him.

Luke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Luke trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vieira keeping moving, preventing Luke from controlling successfully.
Luke throws a big right hand that misses.

Vieira fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Josh Luke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ton Vieira.

Luke shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Luke showed some decent athleticism there.
Vieira looks winded!

Luke in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vieira tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Luke!
