Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Locke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mynaeemer Jinerjins! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Locke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jinerjins tries to clinch but Locke moves out of range. Jinerjins looks to clinch and Locke counters with a shoot takedown. Jinerjins fights it but they end up in guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jinerjins looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Locke puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Locke wants to pass to mount but Jinerjins is defending the position. Locke prevents Jinerjins from standing back up.
Jinerjins tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Locke manages to move to mount!
Locke get's back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Jinerjins wants to clinch. Locke throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Jinerjins looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jinerjins swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Locke darts in and clinches Jinerjins up against the cage. Jinerjins looks to throw an elbow but misses. Jinerjins pulls guard. Locke drops back looking for a leg! Jinerjins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jinerjins manages to kick Locke off! Locke jumps back into Jinerjins's guard. Jinerjins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Locke is controlling him. Locke forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Locke seems content to control. Locke in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jinerjins tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Locke!
