Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santos Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Levi Gene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan comes into the arena with Wassup - by ASAP Rocky blaring out of the sound system. Levi Gene has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santos Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Levi Gene!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Ryan misses.
Gene is looking to clinch but Ryan is avoiding it.
Gene stuffs the takedown.
Ryan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ryan swats away the attempt to clinch by Gene.
Nice uppercut lands for Gene. That snapped Ryan's head back.
Gene ducks under a wild hook from Ryan.
Ryan misses with a few strikes there.
Gene keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ryan.
Gene throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ryan on the side of the head.
Gene fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gene pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ryan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gene closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ryan to the mat! Ryan manages to get full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gene won't allow Ryan to sweep him here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryan is working hard here to advance position.
Ryan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gene accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ryan has momentary wrist control but Gene slips an elbow through the middle.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ryan holds on and takes a little breather.

Ryan controls Gene momentarily but Gene frees himself.

Ryan is trying to control the position but Gene postures up.
Gene throws a big elbow that misses.

Gene postures up in Ryan's guard and throws a big left but Ryan blocks it.

Ryan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nice sprawl there from Gene as Ryan shoots in.

letting Gene counter with a right hand.
Gene fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ryan to the ground. Gene is now in Ryan's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gene in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gene stands and throws Ryan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gene has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gene is looking to advance position but Ryan won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gene is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gene thows a huge punch but Ryan dodges it nicely.
Ryan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gene.
Ryan is holding on to half guard well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Santos Ryan.
Ryan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ryan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ryan misses with a straight right.
Ryan throws a nice looking combination but Gene bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ryan lands with a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gene misses with a hook.
Gene clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ryan.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gene throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gene scores with a shot to the side of Ryan's head.
Ryan is trying to drag Gene to the mat but Gene just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gene swings away with an uppercut that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Levi Gene dominated that round.
That's time! Ryan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ryan scores with a nice head shot.
A punch combination from Ryan misses.
Gene pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gene tries to move into range but Ryan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ryan throws a hook to the side of Gene's head but Gene sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gene fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gene looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gene on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ryan. Ryan obviously looking to wear him down.
Ryan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gene moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gene misses with a straight right.
Santos Ryan is winning the standup battle so far.
Gene tries to clinch but Ryan is having none of it.
Ryan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gene throws out the jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ryan misses the jab.
Gene moves into range and clinches up with Ryan.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Gene wants the takedown. Ryan is fighting it off but Gene persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ryan's guard against the cage.

Gene looks to throw the jab but Ryan is out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ryan.
Ryan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gene tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gene sneaks back into half guard.

Ryan prevents Gene from improving his position.
Gene is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ryan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ryan's back!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Can Ryan hold on?! Gene is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Ryan trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Well, with Gene on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Ryan is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Gene has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Ryan is in real trouble here. Gene gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Ryan is tapping out! Gene wins by rear naked choke!
