Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kantaro Hoshino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Terry! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Hoshino misses. Terry misses with a combination
and Hoshino counters with a lovely straight right hand! Terry misses with a looping left. Terry's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hoshino connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Terry scrambles back to his feet. Hoshino listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Terry misses with a double jab
and Hoshino counters with a stiff right hand. Terry slips a jab from Hoshino. Hoshino tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Terry was well out of range. Poor timing from Hoshino. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Terry bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hoshino's head. Terry throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Terry misses with a two punch combination.
Terry lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoshino circles away quickly and effectively. Terry moves out of range as Hoshino strikes. Hoshino lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Terry does no damage. Terry scores with a hook. Hoshino connects with a good right hand that stumbles Terry. Terry circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Hoshino avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hoshino throws a series of strikes that have Terry backpedaling.
Terry slips a jab and a cross from Hoshino.
Hoshino looks to throw the jab but Terry is out of range. Terry ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Terry fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hoshino bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Terry swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hoshino counters with a straight right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hoshino takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Terry takes a swing at Hoshino's ribcage but misses. Hoshino fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Terry manages to avoid it. Jason Terry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Terry ducks right into an uppercut from Hoshino. Terry swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Terry takes a swing at Hoshino's ribcage but misses. Terry throws a combination that misses and Hoshino counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Terry is rocked!

No joy there for Terry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Terry looks winded! Terry throws the left hand but Hoshino avoids the punch easily. Hoshino throws a jab but it's blocked by Terry. Hoshino pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Terry misses with a wild body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoshino throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hoshino ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Terry falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hoshino counters with a right hand to the body. Hoshino lands a really nice looking cross but Terry seems unphased.
Hoshino scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Terry closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Terry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Terry is still on wobbly legs! Can Hoshino finish him? Hoshino is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hoshino throws a lazy right hand but Terry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Terry takes a swing at Hoshino's ribcage but misses. Terry seems to have recovered his senses. A telegraphed right hand from Hoshino misses the target. Hoshino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hoshino paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terry is aggressively charging in as Hoshino backs up avoiding any damage. Hoshino tosses out a jab and Terry runs right into it face first! Terry is out cold! Hoshino dropped down on all fours and is barking in Terry's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kantaro Hoshino!
