PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nino Canaleta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Substance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canaleta's entrance music is bink sake-one piece. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nino Canaleta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Substance!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canaleta tries to clinch up
and Substance counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Canaleta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Substance drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Substance jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Canaleta doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Canaleta thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Substance stands and throws Canaleta's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Substance has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Canaleta is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Substance yanks on the arm and Canaleta is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Substance.
