Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Beef Chop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Beau Buffet! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chop takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Beef Chop has been cut. Buffet throws a head kick that half lands.
Buffet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Chop throws a series of punches but Buffet moves out of range. Buffet gets caught napping as Chop dives in and scores a takedown. Buffet manages to retain guard. Chop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chop is working Buffet over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chop wants to control from the top but Buffet keeps moving. Buffet keeping full guard, as Chop tries to pass. Buffet looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chop lands a couple of decent looking shots. Buffet throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Buffet manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chop manages to get himself to full guard.
Buffet wants to pass the guard but Chop is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chop punching to the body, from the bottom. Chop is trying to control the position but Buffet postures up. Chop throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Buffet advances position into side control! Chop is trying to control Buffet's posture but Buffet avoids it. Chop is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Buffet tries for a kimura but Chop is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chop tries to bench press Buffet off him but Buffet keeps the position. Buffet tries for a kimura but Chop is defending well. Chop manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chop gets full guard. Chop is trying to control the position but Buffet postures up. Chop lands some strikes from the bottom. Chop looking for a sweep. Not yet Chop, not yet. Chop keeping full guard, as Buffet tries to pass. Buffet wants to control from the top but Chop keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chop looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Buffet looking to sit in guard and control but Chop gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Chop working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Chop is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Chop postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Chop works a leg free and moves into half guard. Chop working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Buffet gets full guard. Buffet looks winded! Chop showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chop tries to free his leg and advance position but Buffet is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buffet has momentary wrist control but Chop slips an elbow through the middle. Chop stopping the sweep attempt from Buffet. Buffet had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chop defends it easily. Chop wants to control from the top but Buffet keeps moving. Chop with a nice head shot there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Buffet can't keep his opponent in guard - Chop advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Chop working the head and body with strikes. Chop scores with a couple of good hammerfists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beef Chop dominated that round. The cut man is working on Beef Chop's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Buffet lands with a straight right. Chop didn't see that one coming. Beau Buffet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chop stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Chop takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Chop misses with a shot to the body and Buffet counters with a body kick. Buffet connects with a nice looking jab.
Buffet misses the shot to the body. Buffet darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Chop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chop tries to get out of the position. Chop punching from the bottom.
Chop looking for a kimura from the bottom but Buffet passes into side control! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Buffet goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Chop has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Buffet but great work by Chop. Buffet is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buffet takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Buffet is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Chop tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Buffet tries to buck Chop off but Chop is having none of it. Buffet takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chop landing strikes. Chop working the ground and pound from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chop lands a few punches from side control. Chop grinds an elbow into Buffet's temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chop scores with punches from side control.
Buffet is rocked! Chop trying to control the action but Buffet is working from the bottom. Buffet is still in real trouble! Can Chop finish him? Buffet seems to have recovered his senses. Chop is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Buffet is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Buffet is being controlled here. Chop trying to control the position but Buffet is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chop is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Buffet has escaped the position, nice work there. Chop working the head and body with strikes. Buffet is not content to let Chop control the position. Buffet tries to bench press Chop off him but Chop keeps the position. Buffet is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chop's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Buffet tries to get to full guard but Chop has control of the leg. Chop content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chop working the head and body with strikes. Chop lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Chop controlling the pace. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Buffet is trying to get back to full guard. Chop frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The referee warns Buffet that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! BOOM! Chop connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Beef Chop overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chop with good strikes from the mount here! Chop loads up with a big shot that hurts Buffet! He's pulled Chop in close but Chop has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Buffet survive? More strikes from Chop and Buffet is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
