The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernian changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Butcher looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hernian is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Butcher knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hernian cracks Butcher with a big right hand but Butcher just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Butcher had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hernian is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Butcher Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hernian's back instead.
Hernian manages to reverse the position and now he's in Butcher's guard. Nice work there by Hernian.

Hernian drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Butcher dives on top into guard.
