The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moses shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has El Guapo pinned against the cage. El Guapo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. El Guapo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Moses. Moses throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
El Guapo closes the distance and clinches up with Moses, looking for a takedown. El Guapo pushes Moses against the cage but Moses circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Moses tries to score a power double leg takedown but El Guapo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Moses somewhat. Conchito El Guapo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Washington Moses. A big left from Moses misses. Moses tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but El Guapo swivels and escapes. Moses shoots in but El Guapo avoids the takedown attempt easily. El Guapo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moses avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moses misses with a low kick.
Horrible takedown by Moses or perhaps it was just good defense by El Guapo which made him look bad. Moses tries to clinch but El Guapo moves out of range. Moses changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. El Guapo tries to avoid it but Moses manages to keep hold of a leg and drag El Guapo to the ground. El Guapo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Moses throws a leg kick but El Guapo sees it coming and moves out of range. Moses throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and El Guapo counters with a two punch combo. Moses shoots in for a takedown but El Guapo shows good takedown defense. El Guapo with a lazy takedown attempt and Moses counters with a nice double leg into side control. El Guapo won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. El Guapo pushes Moses away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Moses gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. El Guapo sneaks out the side door and pushes Moses away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Moses misses with a hook. El Guapo ducked under it nicely. Moses tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but El Guapo swivels and escapes. Moses throws a hook to the side of El Guapo's head but El Guapo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. El Guapo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Moses throws a lazy right hand but El Guapo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. El Guapo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Moses sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. El Guapo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Moses drives through with a takedown into El Guapo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Moses throws a big elbow that misses. El Guapo uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moses misses with a straight left. Moses fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Moses fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but El Guapo avoids it really well and circles away. El Guapo tries for a takedown but Moses circles away easily letting Moses counter with a right hand. El Guapo checks a low kick from Moses. El Guapo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Moses lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but El Guapo circles away quickly and effectively. Moses shoots in for a takedown but El Guapo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Moses. No joy for El Guapo on that attempt. Moses misses with the combination.
Moses manages to get an easy takedown there - catching El Guapo on his heels. He'll look to pass El Guapo's guard now, I'm sure. Moses passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moses is looking to take a break and control but El Guapo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. El Guapo wants to get back to his feet. Moses throws a strike but El Guapo avoids it easily and moves to full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moses gets to his feet. El Guapo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Washington Moses seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moses fails with the takedown and El Guapo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Moses's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Washington Moses dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
El Guapo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and El Guapo wants it to stay on the feet. El Guapo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. El Guapo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moses with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Moses is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of El Guapo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take El Guapo's back! Moses wants to control but El Guapo is keeping busy. Moses has both hooks in and is working for a choke. El Guapo is in real trouble here. Moses gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, El Guapo is tapping out! Moses wins by rear naked choke!
