Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandis Nilenders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandis Nilenders will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sandis Nilenders! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nilenders avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jake Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Nilenders with that takedown attempt. Coleman tries to clinch but Nilenders moves out of range. Coleman looking to score a takedown here. Nilenders is defending well but Coleman drives through and ends up in Nilenders's guard. Nilenders is looking for a triangle but Coleman pushes his legs off easily.
Nilenders is working an open guard so Coleman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nilenders wants to clinch. A combination from Coleman does no damage. Coleman has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman tries to clinch there but Nilenders circles away.
Nilenders has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nilenders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nilenders paws at him with a jab and circles away. Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Nilenders is looking for a sweep. Coleman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nilenders tries to kick Coleman off but Coleman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nilenders really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coleman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nilenders has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coleman is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Coleman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nilenders to get to his feet. Coleman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nilenders on his heels. He'll look to pass Nilenders's guard now, I'm sure. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Coleman stays in close to Nilenders's body and controls the position. Coleman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Nilenders working a defensive guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Coleman wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nilenders is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nilenders doesn't manage to clinch there - Coleman circles away.
Nilenders lands a nice leg kick that just misses Coleman's sensitive parts. Nilenders is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coleman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nilenders looks winded! Coleman throws a head kick but Nilenders moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coleman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Coleman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nilenders looks like he's trying to stand up.
Coleman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Well, if Coleman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Coleman controlling from the top position. Nilenders is working an open guard so Coleman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nilenders keeps the fight on the outside. Nilenders fails with the takedown and Coleman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nilenders's guard. Coleman drops back looking for a leg! Nilenders is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nilenders manages to kick Coleman off! Coleman jumps back into Nilenders's guard. Coleman controls from within his opponent's guard. Coleman preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman gets to his feet. Nilenders looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Coleman feints and as Nilenders raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nilenders is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Coleman slips nicely into half guard. Coleman stands up from half guard. Coleman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nilenders! Nilenders regains half guard there - taking advantage of Coleman's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman is thwarting Nilenders's attempts to control the position. Well, if Coleman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nilenders shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Coleman pinned against the cage. Coleman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Nilenders enables Coleman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nilenders manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Coleman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nilenders, up you get! Coleman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nilenders tries a head kick but it misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Coleman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Still in half guard, Coleman seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Coleman dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Coleman tries to clinch but Nilenders is having none of it. Coleman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nilenders moves away. Coleman wants to clinch up but Nilenders keeps it at a distance. Nilenders misses with a series of wild punches.
Nilenders tries to clinch up. Nilenders misses with a takedown and Coleman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Coleman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nilenders's guard. Coleman is controlling the pace.
Coleman stands up out of the half guard. Nilenders takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nilenders keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Coleman shoots in and bounces Nilenders off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Coleman showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman passes easily into side control. Nice work. Nilenders is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Coleman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Nilenders prevents Coleman from improving position. Coleman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nilenders can do to turn this around? Coleman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nilenders is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Coleman controlling the position from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coleman stands up. Coleman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nilenders's half guard. Coleman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Sandis Nilenders has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jake Coleman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! And that's the end of the fight! Jake Coleman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
