These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins stuffs the takedown.
Gomes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gomes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jenkins swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabio Gomes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomes seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Jenkins shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Gomes is backing up but Jenkins catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Gomes covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Jenkins Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Jimbo Jenkins decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
