Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Copeland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copeland comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Avenged Sevenfold-Beast and the Harlot kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Copeland! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Copeland clinches. Copeland can't get the takedown.
Copeland tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jones avoids it. Copeland tries to land knees in the clinch but Jones avoids the damage to the body. Jones wants to get back to striking at distance but Copeland won't allow it.

Copeland works his way into full mount! Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Copeland tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Copeland is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off. Jones tries to reverse the position but Copeland maintains control. Copeland avoids the attempt from Jones to control. Jones suckers Copeland into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Jones is now in Copeland's guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Copeland is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Copeland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones pushes down on Copeland's leg and manages to get into half guard. Copeland is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones wants to advance to full mount but Copeland doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Copeland controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones passes Copeland's left leg - he's now in half guard. Copeland won't allow Jones to pass to mount. Copeland is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Copeland moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Copeland utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones throws a strike but Copeland rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Copeland tries to hold on but Jones postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones controlling his opponent. Copeland has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Jones is in the full mount, landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Paul Jones will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Paul Jones's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Jones. I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
