Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Batista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Asylum Shaco!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista stuffs the takedown.
Shaco fails to land the takedown.
Shaco fails with a takedown attempt.
Dave Batista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Asylum Shaco.
Batista gets caught flat footed, as Shaco shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Batista had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shaco defends it easily.
Shaco drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shaco jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Shaco postures up.
Shaco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Batista is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shaco, into his guard.
Batista knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shaco on the ground.
Batista keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shaco's head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Shaco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Batista can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shaco preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Batista working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shaco's head.
Batista has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Shaco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batista doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batista manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Batista wants to control from the top but Shaco keeps moving.
Shaco looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Batista passes into half guard.
Batista scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big strike lands for Batista! That's really hurt Shaco and he's turned his back - Batista keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Batista jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
