Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Worner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Fierro!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sloppy strikes from Fierro. Those never looked like landing.

Worner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Fierro tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Worner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fierro to see if he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Worner swings around for an armbar but Fierro sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Worner's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Franklin Worner wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Worner tries to close the distance and clinch but Fierro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Worner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Worner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Worner wants to pass to mount but Fierro is defending the position.
Fierro is trying to maintain the position but Worner is very close to passing his half guard.
Worner content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Worner doesn't manage to clinch there - Fierro circles away.

Worner jumps guard but Fierro stands there with Worner around his waist. Worner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Worner throws out a leg kick but Fierro moves out of range and Worner only half commits.

Worner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fierro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Worner is in Fierro's guard.
Worner wants to pass the guard but Fierro is keeping the position.

Worner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fierro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fierro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fierro!

You can see the frustration on Worner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Worner keeps Fierro under control for a moment.
Worner takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Worner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fierro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
