Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuten Demon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erwin Santan! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Demon forces Santan back against the cage and clinches. Demon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Santan.
Demon prevents the takedown attempt.
Demon successfully pulls guard.
Santan wants to pass the guard but Demon is keeping the position. Demon managing to control the position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santan's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Santan looking to pass the guard. Demon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Santan stopping the sweep attempt from Demon. Santan should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demon has his hands on Santan's head, controlling the position. Demon keeping full guard, as Santan tries to pass.
Shuten Demon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Demon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Demon somewhat. Santan fails with a takedown attempt. Shuten Demon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erwin Santan. Santan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Demon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Demon. Demon lands a takedown into guard.
Demon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santan wants to stand but Demon is controlling the position. Demon looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Demon won't allow Santan to get back to his feet.
Shuten Demon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Demon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Demon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Santan has managed to free his arm - good work. Demon is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Demon manages to mount him!
The referee warns Santan that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Santan somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Santan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Demon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Demon tries to get out of the position. Santan cracks Demon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Demon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Demon is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Santan breaks from Demon's wrist control and lands an elbow. Santan looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Santan landing shots from mount. Demon tries to hold on but Santan pushes him away. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Santan has eaten all the pies! Santan working Demon over with strikes here. Santan cracks Demon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Demon taking shots to the head. Santan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Demon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Santan is landing with some decent strikes but Demon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Demon is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! BOOM! Santan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Oh Demon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Santan postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Demon in real trouble here! The ref calls for Demon to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erwin Santan! Erwin Santan made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Well slap my ass and call me "Sally"!'.
