Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between ernesto geuvera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Florian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Florian is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kenny Florian. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
geuvera is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
geuvera fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Florian rushes geuvera and presses him up against the cage.
geuvera tries to land knees in the clinch but Florian avoids the damage to the body.
geuvera with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Florian has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. geuvera is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Florian tightens his grip and picks geuvera up, before dumping him to the ground. geuvera manages to land in guard.

geuvera is trying to maintain the position but Florian is very close to passing his half guard.
Florian wants to control but geuvera is keeping him busy.
Florian thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Florian has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Florian connects with a nice short shot to geuvera's temple.

Florian stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows geuvera to get to his feet.

Florian looking to sit in guard and control but geuvera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

geuvera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Florian throws a series of punches but geuvera avoids them all with ease.

Florian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around geuvera's waist but geuvera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Florian off to one side.
geuvera feints and then cracks Florian's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Florian down.

Florian closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Florian remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Florian is trying to trip geuvera. He has hold of a leg but geuvera is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Florian persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Florian is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so geuvera is just riding it out for now. Florian eventually gives up the hold.
