Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joseph's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, TEARS FOR FEARS - SHOUT. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, William Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gray Son!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son lands a jab to the head.
Joseph fails with the takedown.
Son throws a series of punches but Joseph moves out of range.

Son closes the distance and pushes Joseph back into the cage.
Joseph tries for a takedown but Son manages to get underhooks.
Joseph is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Son gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Joseph. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head punch on the inside from Joseph fails to land.
Son prevents a takedown attempt there.

Son manages to break the clinch.
Son feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Josephs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gray Son wasn't active enough on the ground.

Joseph tries to score a body lock takedown but Son shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Joseph lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Joseph slowing the pace effectively.

Joseph changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Son fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Son working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joseph doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joseph manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Joseph connects with a couple of short punches.
Son utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Joseph is working Son over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Joseph pushes Son off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Joseph dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Joseph looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Joseph closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Son did well to prevent Joseph getting side control.

Joseph wants to work for an arm triangle but Son is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Joseph is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Joseph working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Son's thigh. Son counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You can see the frustration on Son's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Joseph looks up at the clock and then as Son takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Joseph smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Check out the look on Joseph's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Joseph tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joseph has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Son is looking for a sweep.

Son is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Joseph's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Joseph is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Son is just riding it out for now. Joseph eventually gives up the hold.

Joseph has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Son can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Joseph shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Son as he avoids it easily.

Joseph is trying to trip Son. He has hold of a leg but Son is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Joseph persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Joseph shoots for a double leg takedown but Son sprawls well. He's pushed Joseph's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Son lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Joseph or not.

Son scores with a nice hook to the head.
Son pushes Joseph back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Son is pushing Joseph up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Joseph drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Son gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Joseph has Son pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Joseph pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Son tumbling to the mat - Joseph dives into Son's guard.

Son wants to get back to his feet but Joseph is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Son looking to hit a scissor sweep but Joseph is one step ahead there.
Joseph throws a strike but Son rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Son's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gray Son has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
William Joseph is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Son tries to free his leg and advance position but Joseph is retaining full guard.
Son advances position into side control!

Son looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Joseph avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Son.
Joseph can't do much from the bottom here.
Son throwing strikes but Joseph manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Joseph lands an elbow.
Son gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gray Son comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Joseph has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
