Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Ortiz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz misses with a hook. Kerr ducked under it nicely. Kerr takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Ortiz lands a nice shot that snaps Kerr's head back.

Kerr fails with a takedown attempt. Kerr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ortiz. Kerr staying out of range there. Good standup being displayed there by Ortiz as he connects with a hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ortiz swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kerr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Kerr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ortiz moves out of range as Kerr strikes. Ortiz thows a body shot but no joy. A right-left combo lands from Ortiz.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab lands there for Ortiz. Kerr misses the shot to the body. Ortiz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kerr circles away quickly and effectively. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kerr is defended easily by Ortiz. Ortiz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kerr. Ortiz keeps control of Kerr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kerr doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kerr. Ortiz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kerr.
A frustrated look appears on Ortiz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kerr slowing the pace effectively. Ortiz manages to break the clinch.
Decent striking displayed by Ortiz there. Kerr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ortiz throws out the jab. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kerr. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Ortiz keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ortiz throws a lazy uppercut

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Ortiz manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kerr being controlled here momentarily. Ortiz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kerr is one step ahead there. Ortiz keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully. Ortiz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Justin Ortiz was stalling too much, according to the referee. Ortiz takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Justin Ortiz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kerr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ortiz misses with a body shot.

Kerr gets the takedown into side control. Ortiz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kerr asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kerr throwing shots but missing, from side control. Ortiz is trying to buck Kerr off. Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kerr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ortiz stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiz can do anything to dispel that myth. Kerr tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Kerr fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ortiz is looking for a sweep. Kerr is putting a hurting on Ortiz here, landing some big shots from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Justin Ortiz will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Wayne Kerr's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ortiz throws an overhand right that lands on Kerr's shoulder, as Kerr tries to avoid the shot. Horrible takedown by Kerr or perhaps it was just good defense by Ortiz which made him look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz catches Kerr with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ortiz throws out a powerful jab. Ortiz misses with a wild combination.
Ortiz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Kerr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ortiz misses with a looping left. A low kick from Ortiz misses and Kerr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

enabling Kerr to counter with a crisp jab. Ortiz misses with a left hand and Kerr counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ortiz is trying to control the position but Kerr postures up. Ortiz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ortiz has momentary wrist control but Kerr slips an elbow through the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ortiz is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kerr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ortiz keeping full guard, as Kerr tries to pass. Ortiz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Justin Ortiz wasn't active enough on the ground. Ortiz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Justin Ortiz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kerr takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ortiz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
