Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyron Woodley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hangar-The Reason of your Conviction. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyron Woodley! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodley shoots and misses and John counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. John lands a nice short elbow. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
John not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Woodley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. John preventing the sweep. John trying to control but Woodley is working from the bottom. John controls from within his opponent's guard. John throws an elbow that misses. Woodley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in John's guard. Nice move by Woodley! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Woodley preventing the sweep.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bobby John just wasn't active enough. John stuffs the takedown attempt from Woodley. Woodley gets slowly back to his feet. Woodley looking for a takedown here - he's got it. John looking for a sweep. Not yet John, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. John working for submissions but it's allowed Woodley to get to half guard.
John is staying active underneath Woodley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyron Woodley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. John misses with a straight right. John dives in and scores a takedown into Woodley's guard. John has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. John lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. John wants to pass the guard but Woodley is keeping the position. Woodley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. John is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Woodley preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Woodley can't keep his opponent in guard - John advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. John lands a nice short elbow. Woodley missing with punches from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! John winds up and cracks Woodley with a swinging punch to the side of the head. John not landing any meaningful shots this time. John keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. John working over Woodley with some ground and pound. Woodley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. John frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. John fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Bobby John dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woodley. Woodley tries for a takedown but John circles away easily and John counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by John. John postures up and lands a big shot to Woodley's brow. John keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Woodley's head. John throwing strikes but missing. John throwing strikes from guard but Woodley blocks nicely. John working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Woodley's head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woodley is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodley won't allow John to sweep him here. John working for a triangle but Woodley defends it easily.
Woodley is looking to stand up but John won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. John is looking to sweep but instead, Woodley has passed into half guard.
Woodley blocks the strikes from John.
John misses with some strikes from the bottom.
John is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodley slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyron Woodley was stalling too much, according to the referee. Woodley with a poor takedown and John counters with a shoot takedown. Woodley fights it but they end up in guard. Bobby John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyron Woodley. Woodley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
John throws an elbow that misses. Woodley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in John's guard. Nice move by Woodley! John looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Woodley passes into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodley wants to control but John is keeping him busy. Bobby John overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Woodley tries to stand but John is controlling his head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Woodley looking to control but instead John has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby John dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Horrible takedown by John or perhaps it was just good defense by Woodley which made him look bad. John gets caught napping as Woodley dives in and scores a takedown. John manages to retain guard. Woodley trying to stand up but can't free himself from John's guard. John wants to hit a switch here but Woodley passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for John there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodley looking to control but John is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. John wants to hold on but Woodley pushes him away. John is wriggling around trying to escape.
Woodley stands up from mount. Strange move. A slow jab from John misses its intended target. John shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Woodley counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for John!
That's three minutes gone in the round. John is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on John's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. John is looking to reverse the position. John manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! John is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Woodley tries to kick John off but John keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John looks to land a strike but Woodley avoids it nicely and regains full guard. John is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. John with a flurry of punches that miss. John tries to free his leg and advance position but Woodley is retaining full guard. John with a nice head shot there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. John connects with a couple of short punches. Tyron Woodley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John lands a couple of digs. Bobby John is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Woodley is looking to sinch up a triangle. John throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Woodley's body to avoid the submission. Woodley has instead reached around John's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Woodley arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tyron Woodley! A less than humble Tyron Woodley misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
