Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Montoro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Bassiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bassiki has chosen Niggas in paris as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bassiki wants to clinch but Montoro slips to the side
and Montoro holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bassiki tries to break free but Montoro pushes him back against the cage.
Montoro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Montoro counters with a takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bassiki throws a few strikes from the bottom but Montoro takes advantage and mounts!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Montoro cracks Bassiki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bassiki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bassiki swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Montoro trying to control but Bassiki is having none of it.

Bassiki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Montoro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bassiki chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Montoro.

Montoro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Montoro has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Bassiki is in real trouble here. Montoro gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Bassiki is tapping out! Montoro wins by rear naked choke!
